This ranking is compiled by ranking the defenses based on 2022 consensus stat projections rom FantasyPros. The the rank of each defense is place on every scheduled NFL game for 2022. Then we take an average of the defense rankings on each teams schedule. As teams in the same conference play mostly the same teams, they end up with a similar average rankings.
